Simcity: Crumbling Society

Yes, it was good news when word went out that there is a new Simcity game in the works and that it would maybe be out sometime in 2013. I usually like to play around with this type of game from time to time, because there are times when I want something not too serious to mess around with and waste time. Then there was news that caught my attention, that brought quite a bit of disappointment, but I have already ranted about that and I am sure I will again at some point in time.

Diablo 3 Another Hellgate:London?

Now don’t get my wrong, I loved Hellgate:London, even though a lot of promises were made for that game that were not kept. I know the game was not created by Blizzard either; however, it was created by former Blizzard employees that had worked on Diablo and Diablo 2. Hellgate: London Burning, is my third most played game, at least since I started tracking the games I play, first with X-Fire and now with Raptr. If you check my Raptr profile, under most played games, you will see that I have played over 130 hours worth of Hellgate.

Diablo 3 – RMAH

Everyone knows that Diablo 3 is going to have a real money auction house and the big debate over this is if anyone will use it and why they would want to use it in the first place. The idea of the RMAH, began, because in Diablo 2 there were third party websites where people would sell the rare items that they got from drops off of champion and boss creatures to people who wanted to buy them,. Along with these third party websites, people also sold Diablo 2 items on E-Bay and other auction type places.

Torchlight 2 Cinematic Opener released

To be released sometime in June, most likely the middle of the month or so, Runic Games, the creator of Torchlight and Torchlight 2 released the cinematic opener for Torchlight 2 this Friday. If you have not seen it, it can be found here.

Internet connection required

I am not sure where the trend began, but there are a few games out today that you are required to have an always on internet connection, to be able to play. I am not talking about MMOs, which of course you do have to have a connection to play. The games I am talking about are the ones that have single player elements and you still need to have a connection to the internet to play them.

Welcome to The Ranting Gamer

Greetings and welcome to the Ranting Gamer. I can be rather opinionated at time about games and other such things and I am not afraid to express these opinions. I may say some things that others do not like, or agree with, but that is fine, because everyone has an opinion and their own thoughts on a subject, these are just mine and are not meant to offend anyone, no matter if they are just consumers, or developers. I do not however; apologize for anything I might say.
